MG ZS EV – India’s First Pure Electric Internet SUV

After the huge success of the premium SUV by Morris Garages, the Hector, MG has launched their electric vehicle and to add to the surprise in the SUV segment of cars which can be called India’s one of the first electric SUVs. Introducing this EV in India, which was booming in the global markets, was a very smart move by the Morris Garage management in terms of the enormity of the future of electric vehicles. Today’s generation has been looking forward to investing and channelizing their money in something more sustainable and environment-friendly than indulging in show-off business spending a lot. And cars have been among some of these things.
Performance

In the segment of acceleration, ZS EV is not as good as the Tesla models but still manages to beat some big boys like Creta in the fuel cars. ZS EV goes from 0 to 100 mph in just 8.36 seconds which is decent acceleration for an SUV in the electric genre. Similarly in the braking business for it to come down from a speed of 100 to 0 mph, it needs a 40.5 m distance which is again quite good for a compact SUV.
Battery Capacity

ZS EV has a hi-tech battery that is specially designed to adapt to the weather changes in the Indian subcontinent. A huge battery of 44.5Kwh is fitted in the car which is a perfect fit for a compact SUV like this. To add to this the company says not to worry about its charging because they offer AC chargers, DC chargers, and portable chargers too.
Safety
Coming to its safety, it is equipped with the basic seat belt reminder alarm for the front as well as rear seats which is kind of a go-to feature for all cars these days. Then ZS EV is also equipped with an electric parking brake, which ensures that whenever you suddenly press the brakes the car is secure. The company also provides reverse parking cameras with dynamic lines which enables the driver to park the car safely and in proper alignment. One more safety feature which is a plus of this car is the ESP. Electronic Stability Control offers good stability while sharp turns and imbalance.
Interior

Interior is what is all about. Designed with a dual theme of black and silver the interior give the vehicle a more premium look and feel. Like any other SUV, this car too has sufficiently large and comfortable seats with the driver’s seat being electronically adjustable. There are two cup-holders given in the space that is available in the front and rear seats. The car comes with an all-leather interior with a leather-fitted steering wheel with perforations which gives a premium look. Also, a vacuum cleaner is provided in the interior as an accessory.
Exterior
Talking about the general physical overview of the ZS EV it looks like any other ordinary SUV from the outside. But for that matter, all the magic happens within. On the outer look, it has a simple and minimalistic look and builds which is more of an aerodynamic car and looks decent. Also, a side-step board is provided to climb the car comfortably. And lastly, the car comes with an external cover.

Pros and Cons of the Car
Pros
- It provides a great response in all three modes that is- eco, sports, and normal mode.
- It has impressively good steering dynamics and weighs up very well when it comes to higher speeds.
- It has a huge legroom space in the rear part and has a decent dash layout with soft plastic touch
- CATL is the largest manufacturer of batteries, the battery of the ZS EV is more than reliable.
Cons
- At the rear part of the car, it misses out on AC vents, an armrest, LEDs, Fog lamp, etc
- Ground clearance is comparatively lower than other vehicles that fall in the same segment
- Since in India there is a scarcity of charging stations, in general for all EVs, ZS EV too has range and charging issues
